Political Consultations between Sri Lanka and the State of Palestine held in Colombo

The first session of Political Consultations between Sri Lanka and the State of Palestine was held in Colombo on 21st April 2017 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Colombo. The Protocol on Political Consultations was signed between the two countries in 2012, with a view to further develop bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and international issues of common interest.

Sri Lanka is shocked by the terrorist attack at the British Parliament yesterday, 22 March 2017, resulting in death and injury.

President Sirisena to undertake official visit to the Russian Federation

President Maithripala Sirisena will undertake an official visit to the Russian Federation on 22-24 March 2017 at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin. The upcoming visit will be the first official visit to Russia by a Sri Lankan leader since 1974, when Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike visited Moscow. The visit takes place as both countries celebrate the 60^th anniversary of the establishment diplomatic relations this year.
