Sri Lankan Community Participates At Annual Cancer Walkathon -2019

Sri Lankan community in Oman participated at the Annual Cancer Walkathon – 2019, organized by Oman Cancer Association on 29 October2019 with a symbolic walk of 3 km at Qurum Nature Park in Muscat. The event was held under the patronage of Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development of Oman Dr. Yahya bin Badr Al Ma’wali, and President & Chairperson of Oman Cancer Association Dr. Wahid Ali Said Kharushi.

The Walkathon with the theme, “Together we win” was organized to make awareness of all cancers as well as to support cancer patients and their families. The event also marked the Annual Global October Pink Ribbon, a month dedicated to breast cancer awareness.

Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Sultanate of Oman Ameer Ajwad, the staff of the Sri Lanka Embassy in Muscat, Chairman of Sri Lankan Social Club of Oman Roy Lasantha, Chairman of the Board of Management of Sri Lankan School Muscat Yasanga Dewage and members of Sri Lankan community in Oman participated at Walkathon to show solidarity together with a large number Omani and foreign nationals living in Oman.
