The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Jakarta successfully participated at the 53rd Annual Charity Bazaar organized by the Women’s International Club (WIC) of Jakarta on 20 October, 2022 at the Grand Sahid Jaya Hotel. The WIC Charity Bazaar is one of the main events organized by the Women’s International Club to raise funds for social improvement of the underprivileged people in Jakarta.
The Bazaar featured 163 stalls including the participation of 28 Diplomatic Missions based in Jakarta. The Sri Lanka Embassy stall showcased and promoted handicrafts items received from the National Crafts Council, Dilmah Tea and shawls created by famous textile designer Mira Hoeng, in Jakarta based on the Sri Lankan National Flower the blue water lily.
The Sri Lanka Embassy stall attracted many visitors and the Embassy was able to promote Sri Lanka including as a tourist destination
