Ambassador–designate Kapila Jayaweera paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister of Lebanon Najib Mikati at Grand Serail in Beirut on 08 March 2023.
At the meeting, Jayaweera briefed the Prime Minister on Sri Lanka government’s policy on economic revival and its progress, and avenues for political and trade cooperation between Sri Lanka and Lebanon.
Prime Minister Najib Mikati admired the long-standing Sri Lanka – Lebanon bilateral relationship, and assured unwavering support for Sri Lanka’s bilateral and multilateral matters of concern and to working closely with Sri Lanka in the future.
