At the invitation of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) in the framework of the South Asia Week, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage delivered a lecture to the students of the University.
In the course of the lecture, the Ambassador told the students about the history and culture of Sri Lanka, answered questions from the audience about traditional medicine, art, Sri Lanka - Russia ties and prospects for the development of bilateral contacts. The future diplomats expressed keen interest in the customs and traditions of Sri Lanka and tried to make best use of the meeting with the Head of the Foreign Mission.
The event was also attended by Advisor to the Rector’s Office - Deputy Vice-Rector for Youth Policy, Social Work and International Relations E.A. Shuvalova and Envoy Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary 2nd Class, Associate Professor of the Department of Diplomacy A.Yu. Davydenko. In the course of the meeting with the representatives of the University Administration Prof. Janitha Liyanage discussed the possibilities of expanding cooperation with the MGIMO University in the educational and scientific spheres.
