The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Lebanon in coordination with the Sri Lankan migrant community in Lebanon celebrated Thai Pongal at the Embassy premises on 19 January 2020. Over 100 migrant workers participated.
The Celebrations commenced with the traditional boiling of milk and Pooja for the Hindu Gods and worship of Sun.
The Ambassador addressed the gathering and spoke on Thai Pongal, prosperity, spending patterns and sending their remittances to Sri Lanka.
“Bajans” were sung and Pongal rice and sweets were severed.
