Sri Lankan High Commissioner pays farewell call on Commonwealth Secretary-General

The outgoing High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to the United Kingdom Manisha Gunasekera paid a farewell call on the Secretary-General of the Commonwealth The Rt Hon Patricia Scotland QC on Tuesday 21 January 2020 at Marlborough House.

During the meeting, the High Commissioner expressed her deep appreciation for the support and cooperation extended by the Secretary-General and the Commonwealth Secretariat under her leadership in strengthening Sri Lanka’s engagement with the Commonwealth. Secretary-General Scotland acknowledged Sri Lanka’s significant contribution to the Commonwealth including the country’s championing of the Commonwealth Blue Charter and the successful hosting of the Commonwealth Law Ministers’ Meeting in Colombo last November. The Secretary-General extended her appreciation for the proactive engagement of the High Commissioner with the Commonwealth during her tenure as Sri Lanka’s envoy in the UK.
