Sri Lanka Ambassador to Jordan attends 11th Asia-Pacific Cooperative Ministers’ Conference

The Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Jordan J.A.D.S. Priyangika Wijegunasekara attended the 11th Asia Pacific Cooperative Minister's Conference held at  Dead Sea, Jordan from 28-30 April 2024 representing the Minister of Trade, Commerce, and Food Security of Sri Lanka. The conference focused on Partnerships between governments and cooperatives for cooperative resilience, sustainable development, and inclusive growth in Asia Pacific, Middle East, and North Africa (MENA). The Ambassador read out the Minister’s speech at the conference, underscoring Sri Lanka’s commitment to using cooperatives as enablers of sustainable development.

The Asia Pacific Cooperative Minister’s Conference, established in 1990 by the International Cooperative Alliance Asia Pacific (ICA-AP), is a quadrennial event organized to provide a platform for cooperatives and governments to discuss current and emerging issues and set a common agenda towards the establishment of new forms of cooperation between governments and cooperatives.

The Second Secretary of the Embassy also attended the conference.
