Consulate General of Sri Lanka commenced work for the new year 2020 ceremonially on 01 January 2020 at the Consulate General Premises.
Counsellor T.F.M.Aashiq hoisted the National Flag followed by singing of the National anthem by the entire staff of the Mission.
Two minutes of silence was observed for the remembrance of the fallen war heroes and then the oath of the Public Sector employees was read out in all three languages by the staff.
During the address to the staff, the Counsellor outlined the importance of the role to be played by the Mission for the development of the Country mainly focusing in the areas of Trade, Travel, Tourism and promoting skilled manpower. Moreover he added that the Mission should work as a team, corruption free and in a transparent manner for an excellent public service delivery for the achievement of the goals of the President’s policy statement under the theme of “Vistas of Prosperity and Splendor”.
The program concluded with serving traditional Sri Lankan breakfast to the Consulate General staff and the visitors present.
