With the concurrence of the Government of the United States of America, the Government of Sri Lanka appointed Asoka K. Silva as Sri Lanka’s Honorary Consul in Hawaii. Ambassador Mahinda Samarasinghe, on 19 February 2024, ceremonially handed over the Commission of Appointment to Honorary Consul Silva at the Embassy premises.
Mr. Silva is a well-known Sri Lankan American with over two decades of experience in engaging with Sri Lankan Diaspora.
He will immediately commence official work at the Honorary Consulate in Honolulu, promoting and strengthening bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and the United States.
