The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Yangon conducts B2B Meetings to Strengthen Sri Lanka–Myanmar IT Sector Collaboration

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Yangon successfully conducted two Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings, with leading IT and technology companies in Myanmar, namely ATGsys ICT Solution and Mastech Co. Ltd., held in parallel to the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Programme, on 5 and 6 December 2025 in Yangon, Myanmar.

A delegation of private-sector entrepreneurs, involved in IT and Tourism sectors, from Sri Lanka including CEO, Ravindranath Abeysekara and IT Consultant, Dammika Karangoda of mobiOs Private Limited; CEO, Parinda Dissanayake, and Director (Finance & Operations), Gayan Jayawickrama of Travel Vibes PLC., visited Myanmar at the invitation of the Embassy, to explore opportunities for enhanced bilateral cooperation in the IT and Tourism sectors, in Myanmar.

Under the facilitation of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Yangon, Myanmar, and the relevant Myanmar private sector organizations, the first B2B session was held at the headquarters of ATGsys ICT Solutions. It was co-chaired by the Minister at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Myanmar,      Lal Kularathna and Co-Founder & Executive Director, ATGsys ICT Solution, U Zaw Myint Oo.. The second meeting session was taken place at Mastech Co. Ltd, and was co-chaired by Lal Kularathna and CEO, Mastech Co. Ltd, Gilbert Lee.

During these meeting sessions, participants engaged in in-depth discussions focused on practical strategies to strengthen IT sector collaboration and foster sustainable cross-border partnerships between the technology companies of the two countries. Key areas of cooperation identified      included, Joint software development, IT services, and technology solutions targeting regional and international markets; Exploration of direct IT trade and investment opportunities between Myanmar and Sri Lanka; Development of joint marketing and promotional strategies for technology products and services; Leveraging IT-driven and digital platforms to drive innovation, optimize business processes, and enhance global competitiveness; Opportunity to establish data centers and cloud solutions for the mutual benefit of both parties.

Both parties emphasized the importance of continuous cooperation and engagement to expand market access, foster technological innovation, attract investment, and strengthen overall collaboration within the IT sector between Sri Lanka and Myanmar.

These meetings represent an important initiative and a significant step towards strengthening bilateral economic ties, fostering collaboration, and promoting mutual growth within the rapidly evolving regional technological landscape.
