The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Lebanon celebrates the 76th Independence Day

The Embassy of Sri Lanka celebrated the 76th Independence Day of Sri Lanka at the auditorium of St. Savior Church in Bourj Hammoud, Lebanon on the 04 February 2024.

 

Following the traditional formalities, Ambassador-designate Kapila Jayaweera read out the National Day messages of the President, Prime Minister, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka. In his speech, Ambassador-designate admired the commitment of the Sri Lankan and Lebanese communities towards the prosperity of motherland, and the support extended to make the event successful.

 

The event showcased Sri Lankan and Lebanese traditional performances. The Sri Lankan contingent attached to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) also participated in the celebrations.

 

Senior officials of Directorate General Office, Honorary Consul for Syria Dr, Mohamad Al-Droubl, IOM, Caritas, Sri Lanka Army officers attached to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), Sri Lankan and Lebanese community attended the event.
