The Annual Katina Ceremony of the Buddhist Maha Vihara, Brickfields was held on 20 October 2019 under the patronage of the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Malaysia Air Chief Marshal Kapila Veedhiya Bandara Jayampathy and with the participation of a large number of Sri Lankan and other Buddhist devotees residing in the Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The Religious Ceremony conducted by the Chief High Priest Most Ven. Datuk Kirinde Sri Dhammaratana Nayaka Thero, with the Buddha Puja followed by offering of morning alms to the monks and commencement of procession for members, devotees and well-wishers carrying requisites for the Sangha.

The High Commissioner and his family members, staff of the High Commission and a large number of Sri Lankan and other Buddhist devotees residing in Malaysia attended the ceremony.

On Mid-day alms giving ceremony was held for Buddhist monks and the Katina robe was offered to the Maha Sangha at Buddhist Maha Vihara, Brickfields with the participation of a large number of Buddhist devotees.
