Sri Lankan Consul General Visits Karachi Chamber to Boost Trade and Investment Ties

The Consul General of Sri Lanka in Karachi Jagath Abeywarna, visited the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) on Friday, 25 April 2025, to discuss strengthening economic ties between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

During the visit the Consul General outlined Sri Lanka’s steady economic recovery, highlighting projected GDP growth exceeding 5% and record-breaking expectations in tourism field and exports.

The discussions focused on identifying potential sectors for collaboration, promoting direct business-to-business contacts, and facilitating trade delegations and exhibitions. Both sides expressed optimism about the growing prospects of economic cooperation and agreed to work closely towards realizing the full potential of trade between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

Senior Vice President of KCCI Mr. Zia ul Arfeen, noted that there are many more avenues to further expand bilateral trade and cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting underscored the shared commitment to enhancing trade and investment opportunities for mutual prosperity.
