At the invitation of the Sri Lankans Association in Poland, the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Poland, Priyangika Dharmasena attended the first Christmas Mass in the Sinhala language in Poland at an Abbey in Warsaw, on 20 December 2025, organized by the Sri Lankans Association in Poland and assisted by the Embassy. The mass was conducted by Reverend Father Janith Fernando to a congregation comprising all faiths, showing a solidarity amongst the Sri Lanka community in Poland.
Ambassador Dharmasena in her speech referred to the catholic community in Sri Lanka being “a part and parcel of its diversified multi-religious society” and community gatherings “organized to continue one’s spirituality far away from the Motherland” as being “praiseworthy and sublime”.
Reflecting the teachings of Jesus Christ, on generosity, Ambassador Dharmasena in her speech enticed the gathering to donate to their Motherland devastated by “Cyclone Ditwah” and “spread the word around to others, to rebuild the country in order to come out of the abyss of destruction caused by the relentless nature”.
