Sri Lanka Embassy in Jordan observes candle light vigil in remembrance of those who lost their life, and injured in terrorist bomb attack. 

Sri Lanka embassy in Jordan organized a candle light vigil followed by a special mass in remembrance of those who lost their precious life, and injured at the Easter Sunday horrendous terrorist bomb attack in Sri Lanka.

The event, which was organized by the embassy in collaboration with the Bisharath Roman Catholic Church in Amman and the Sri Lankan community resident in Jordan, was attended by many Sri Lankans form all faiths.

Sri Lankan Rev. Father Alex Weerasooriya having conducted special mass addressed the gathering. “No any religion advocates killing and murders and the murderers cannot be martyrs” the father mentioned in his speech.

Dr. Mohamed Al Soos offering the Islamic prayers mentioned in his speech that Islam never advocates the killing as the Quran clearly states that “taking one’s life is tantamount to killing whole humanity and saving one life is equal to saving whole humanity”

The Ambassador Mr. A.L.M. Lafeer in his brief remark stated that, this heinous terrorist attack cannot be justified by any means and angers me beyond words. The perpetrators can never be a human, let alone their religious identity. The terrorism which ever forms it emerges in will be defeated and uprooted in Sri Lanka, he further said.

The religious dignitaries vehemently condemning this crime offered prayers for the lost souls and those who injured, and they also wished and prayed that Sri Lanka recovers fast from this untold tragedy.
