Sri Lanka Embassy in Bangkok joins the “57th Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar” inaugurated by Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn

The Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka in Bangkok joined the International Charity Product Expo of the Year “57th Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar” under the theme “Shop for a Cause” at Siam Paragon, Bangkok from 17-19 May 2024. The Bazaar was organized by the Thai Red Cross Society in collaboration with the spouses of the Ambassadors in Bangkok. The spouse of the Ambassador of Sri Lanka, Stephen Senanayake, was a member of the organizing committee and Co-Director of the raffle draw. For the very first time, Thai Red Cross souvenirs and raffle tickets were purchased all over the world through the online platform iredcross.org.

The bazaar was inaugurated on 17 May 2024 by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of the Kingdom of Thailand, the Chairperson of the Thailand Red Cross Society.

Products from the National Crafts Council and Ceylon tea from Eswaran Brothers Exports (Pvt) Ltd, Ranfer Teas (Pvt) Ltd, and Basilur Tea (Pvt) Ltd garnered admiration and high demand from both Thai and international visitors.

At a press conference held before the event, Sri Lanka’s products were introduced and promoted through TV channels in Thailand. The contributions from the participating embassies will support various charitable projects in Thailand under royal patronage.
