Research on Buddhism and Buddhist philosophy has created great interest among non-Buddhist western scholars. On the request of the graduate and undergraduate students following Anthropology, Sociology and Philosophy courses at the University of Warsaw, the Embassy took the initiative to donate books on Buddhist philosophy and Buddhism to the main library of the University of Warsaw.

The Embassy organised this event under the patronage of the Post-graduate Institute of Pali & Buddhist Studies and Venerable Halyale Wimalarathana Thero, President of the International Buddhist Foundation in Geneva. Ven. Wimalarathana Thero had made arrangements with the Buddhist Publication Society to donate more than 50 books on Buddhism.
