Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Myanmar, Janaka Bandara attended the 21st Convocation Ceremony of International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University (ITBMU) of Myanmar on 24 July 2023 as a special guest. The event was organized by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture of Myanmar.
Two Sri Lankan monks namely, Venerable Mawarale Dhammajeewa Thero and Venerable Kuliyapitiye Sangharathana Thero, were graduated at this convocation for the academic year 2022 – 2023 of the ITBMU. Ambassador Janaka Bandara joined in felicitating them on their great achievements.
The event was attended by a large gathering including the Religious Affairs Minister of Myanmar U Ko Ko and other high dignitaries of the Myanmar government.
