On 22.06.2023, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Jordan, J.A.D.S. Priyangika Wijegunasekara attended the Annual Long Service Award Ceremony of MAS Al Safi Apparel Manufacturing LLC. in Amman.
The MAS Al Safi Apparel Manufacturing LLC. is a fully owned subsidiary of MAS Active (Pvt.) Ltd. Sri Lanka. The company started its operations in Jordon in 2015 and by today, it has grown up to three manufacturing units with over 4000 employees representing seven different nationalities.
The ceremony was organized to recognize the service of its employees who have completed 5, 10, and 15 years. Forty out of ninety-four awards were received by Sri Lankan employees.
Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Wijegunasekara thanked the company management for organizing this ceremony motivating fellow workers and acknowledged the achievement and commitment of the award recipients. Ambassador emphasized the importance of foreign workers’ remittances towards Sri Lanka’s economic growth and development and encouraged Sri Lankan migrant workers to send their remittances to Sri Lanka through legal means.
