The High Commission of Sri Lanka in Singapore organised a special Mass on Sunday, 21 December 2025, at the Church of St. Mary of Angels to commemorate this year’s Christmas. At the Mass, prayers were offered and blessings invoked for those affected by the recent adverse weather conditions, seeking comfort, strength, and protection in the days ahead.
The Service was conducted by the Assistant Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Julian Mariaratnam, who led special prayers for the safety, well-being, and recovery of affected communities, and invoked blessings upon the people and leadership of Sri Lanka. He emphasised empathy, mutual understanding, and peaceful coexistence, particularly during times of adversity, and called for collective support for those in need.
Staff of the High Commission, together with members of the Sri Lankan community in Singapore, including migrant workers and friends of Sri Lanka, participated in the Service.
The Mass concluded with a light fellowship meal featuring Sri Lankan cuisine, fostering a sense of community and goodwill among the participants.
