Upon hearing of the earth quake and the tsunami that struck the northern and eastern parts of Japan this afternoon, President Mahinda Rajapaksa spoke to the Japanese Ambassador in Colombo Mr. Kunio Takahashi and expressed his condolence on the destruction caused to lives and property.
