Agreement on exemption of visas for Diplomatic & Official Passports signed between Sri Lanka and Kazakhstan

H.E. Bulat Sarasenbayev, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan resident in New Delhi met with Mrs. Chitranganee Wagiswara, Secretary of Foreign Affairs on 4th July, to discuss matters of bilateral cooperation between Sri Lanka and Kazakhstan.

Following the meeting, Ambassador Sarasenbayev signed an ‘Agreement on Exemption of Visas for holders of Diplomatic and Official Passports’ with Foreign Secretary Wagiswara, at the Foreign Ministry. The agreement would further strengthen the longstanding bilateral relations by facilitating and simplifying the travel of those holding diplomatic and official passports between the two countries.

 

Kazakhstan will host the Expo-2017 from 1 June – 1 September 2017, under the theme “Future Energy” in Astana. Sri Lanka’s active participation in this important event was stressed by the Ambassador of Kazakhstan. The Expo-2017 will focus on sustainable energy in the context of UN Development Aganda-2030.
