The High Commission of Sri Lanka in Maldives M. Rizvi Hassen paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives, Dr. Abdulla Khaleel at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 05 October 2025.
The High Commissioner was warmly welcomed by Minister Dr. Khaleel and recalled the close bilateral relations as well as people to people contacts between Sri Lanka and Maldives which were renewed with the recent State Visit of the President of Sri Lanka to Maldives.
The High Commissioner reaffirmed Sri Lanka’s commitment to further strengthening existing friendly ties between the two countries, and stressed on his vision to explore new areas of cooperation in trade, science & technology, climate change and sports during his tenure in Maldives.
