
Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner-designate to Malaysia, Dharshana M. Perera, assumed duties on Tuesday, 31 March 2026 at the High Commission in Kuala Lumpur.
Addressing the team, he highlighted the importance of strengthening the multifaceted relationship with Malaysia including in the political, economic and cultural spheres as well as enhancing services to the Sri Lankan community in Malaysia. He called on the team to pursue the Government's agenda for the betterment of the people of Sri Lanka and elevating Sri Lanka’s engagement with Malaysia.
High Commissioner-designate is an officer of the Sri Lanka Foreign Service. Prior to his current appointment, he served as Actg. Additional Secretary (Economic Affairs - Bilateral) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism of Sri Lanka. He has served as Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Indonesia, ASEAN, Sweden and several Scandinavian and Nordic countries. He has also served in Sri Lanka’s diplomatic Missions in Rome, Moscow, Bangkok, New York, and Washington D.C.
