High Commissioner attends the 4th SAARC Law Mooting Competition in New Delhi

Fourth Prof. N.R. Madhava Menon SAARC LAW Mooting Competition, 2018-19, was held from 15th to 18th February 2019 at the Lloyds Law College in Greater Noida. High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in India Austin Fernando, Justice Priyantha Jayawardene, Judge, Supreme Court of Sri Lanka and Prof. (Dr.) V. T. Thamilmaran, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka participated representing Sri Lanka. This competition was aimed to inspire and encourage interaction and reciprocity of ideas among law students of SAARC countries for promotion of regional cooperation, mutual benefit in legal education and to broaden the horizon of legal studies.

The competition was conducted in two stages - the India Round and the SAARC Round. The India Round was organized by the Lloyd Law College with technical support from Menon Institute of Legal Advocacy Training, Trivandrum (MILAT) and Society of Indian Law Firms (SILF) at Lloyd Law College, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India in last October 2018. This time it was the SAARC Round which was held.

The Competition (SAARC Round) 2019 witnessed the presence of Judges and legal Experts from Supreme Courts and High Courts of India and from south asia.

The Lloyds Law College has been sponsoring the Mooting Competition, commemorating the efforts by Prof. Madhava Menon towards legal education reforms.
