Embassy of Sri Lanka participates in Bahrain National Day Celebrations 

The Embassy of Sri Lanka participated in the Cultural Show and the Exhibition held during the 52nd National Day Celebration of the Kingdom of Bahrain organized by “This is Bahrain” under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The celebrations took place on 15 December 2023 at National Stadium in Isa Town. Minister of Social Development of Bahrain Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al Asfoor graced the event as the Chief Guest.

The Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Bahrain H.M.G.R.R.K. Wijeratne Mendis, the staff of the Embassy and the Sri Lankan community in Bahrain attended the event.

During the celebration, the dancing troupes of Sri Lanka Club, Sinhala School and Thiranga Kala Dance Academy showcased Sri Lanka's culture and attractions with vibrant dance performances. These dance items by the children of Sri Lankan expatriates and migrant workers in Bahrain conveyed the Sri Lankan community's appreciation for the hospitality of the government and the people of the Kingdom of Bahrain and were appreciated by the audience.

The Exhibition stalls managed by the Sri Lanka Club Bahrain and "Ceylon Avenue" promoted Sri Lanka tourism, Ceylon Tea, cinnamon, cuisine and other Sri Lankan products.

Founder & Chairperson of “This Is Bahrain”  Betsy B Mathieson, the Ambassadors and other members of the diplomatic community in Bahrain were present on the occasion which attracted thousands of Bahrainis and expatriates celebrating Bahrain National Day. The event was given live coverage by Bahrain National Television.
