Embassy of Sri Lanka in Berlin ceremonially commences work for the year 2020

The Embassy of Sri Lanka ceremonially marked the commencement of work for the year 2020 at a special event held at the Embassy premises.

The event started with hoisting of the National Flag by Charge d’ Affaires a.i Ahamed Razee which was followed by singing of National Anthem and an observance of a two minutes silence to commemorate the war heroes and others who sacrificed their lives for the motherland. The staff of the Embassy administered the oath of public servants in Sinhala, Tamil and English.

Charge d’ Affaires a.i Ahamed Razee, in his brief speech, highlighted the vision of the President to establish an efficient and productive public service with a view to provide service for the betterment of present and future generations while aiming to achieve macro-economic targets.  Also he commended the support extended by the staff during the previous year in achieving goals of the Mission and requested the continuous support in Mission’s future endeavours ensuring the prompt, honest and unwavering contribution of all staff to create a productive citizenry, a happy life, a disciplined society and a prosperous nation, in line with the policy statement of the President.

The ceremony, added renewed hopes for the New Year, concluded with a traditional breakfast arranged by the staff of the Embassy.
