Embassy of Sri Lanka in Bahrain Organizes an Awareness Programme for Sri Lankan Community  Representatives on Business Opportunities with Bahrain

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Manama partnering with Export Bahrain and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Bahrain organized an awareness programme on business opportunities for members of the Sri Lankan business community in Bahrain on 12 December 2023, at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Bahrain.

The event was organized as a key activity under the Economic Diplomacy programme of the Embassy to provide a better understanding of the opportunities for doing business with Bahrain. The meeting also served as a useful platform for the participants to seek clarifications on various procedures and options for establishing a company in Bahrain including on opening of foreign branches and representative offices of companies based in Sri Lanka.

The Embassy is presently coordinating and collaborating with Bahraini authorities to identify and facilitate opportunities for Sri Lankan exporters and entrepreneurs to establish or expand their businesses in Bahrain, and re-export through value addition, thus providing a win-win situation in enhancing bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Bahrain H.M.G.R.R.K. Wijeratne Mendis led the Sri Lanka delegation consisting of Minister & Head of Chancery Shashika Somaratne, and members of the Sri Lankan Business Community in Bahrain. Huda Al Basri, Chief Investors Relations & Guidance Directorate, Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Bahrain and Hasan Swar, Business Development, Export Bahrain served as resource persons.
