 Embassy of Sri Lanka celebrates Christmas with Sri Lankans living in Indonesia

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Jakarta in collaboration with the Association of Sri Lankans Living in Indonesia (ASLI) celebrated Christmas at the Embassy premises on 27 December 2024. The event was attended by a great number of Sri Lankans and Indonesians along with well-wishers.

Rev. Fr. Alforinus Gregorius, Pontus from the Sacred Heart Church in Menteng, Indonesia, conducted prayers and delivered a sermon, invoking good wishes for the Embassy staff, attendees, all Sri Lankans, and the Government of Sri Lanka.

In her opening remarks, Chargé d'Affaires (a.i.) of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Jakarta, Nilanthi K. Pelawaththage highlighted the true values of Christmas - togetherness, kindness, and generosity, while emphasizing their importance in fostering harmony and peace within society.

The event was further enlivened by the Sacred Heart Church Choir whose melodious carol performances created a festive and joyous atmosphere.

The celebration concluded with a feast featuring flavorful Sri Lankan cuisine.
