The Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka in Thailand facilitated the participation of a Sri Lankan business delegation in Style Bangkok 2025, held from 31 March to 07 April 2025. The 13-member delegation coordinated by the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) comprised representatives from 10 leading companies. Sri Lanka was represented in the handicraft and lifestyle sectors at Style Bangkok 2025, with the aim of promoting the country’s creative industries.
Style Bangkok is one of Asia’s most prominent trade fairs for lifestyle, fashion, and design products. The Sri Lanka pavilion inaugurated by Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Thailand and Permanent Representative to UNESCAP, Wijayanthi Edirisinghe marked Sri Lanka’s debut participation in the event.
The Embassy also arranged a comprehensive technical exposure and knowledge-sharing programme in collaboration with key Thai institutions. The programme included a training session on “Export of Lifestyle Products to the International Market” conducted by the Sustainable Arts and Crafts Institute of Thailand (SACIT) and the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI). Delegates also visited prominent Thai retail outlets and handicraft showrooms to gain valuable insights into product innovation, branding, market trends, and sustainable production practices.
The exposure provided through Style Bangkok 2025 is expected to enhance the competitiveness of Sri Lankan exporters in global markets while encouraging innovation, quality improvement, and sustainability in the sector.
