The Consul General of Sri Lanka in Toronto Thushara Rodrigo participated in the Katina Ceremonies' held in Toronto Maha Vihara and the West End Buddhist Vihara and Meditation Center in Toronto on 4 and 5 November 2023.
The Chief Incumbents of the two temples the Most Venerable Ahangama Rathanasiri Maha Nayake Thero and the Most Venerable Kulugammana Dhammawasa Nayake Thero led the dhamma sermons while Buddhist monks conducted overnight pirith chanting. Both Nayake Theros while appreciating the Sri Lankan Government's representation at the ceremonies blessed Sri Lanka and her people.
Traditional Buddhist cultural performances conducted by the children of the Dhamma schools of the two temples and the Sri Lankan Canadian Community living in Toronto added colour to the events.
