Embassy of Sri Lanka in Kathmandu celebrated Sri Lanka’s 65^th National Day on 4^th February 2013. The Embassy held two functions to celebrate the event in Kathmandu. The morning celebrations were held at the Embassy premises with the hoisting of the national flag by His Excellency Mr. W.M. Senevirathna, the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Nepal and followed by the national anthem. Traditional oil lamp was lighted by the Ambassador and some invited guests. Official ceremony comprised of hosting the national flag, lighting the traditional oil lamp and rendering of the National Anthem, blessing of four major religions (Buddhism, Hindu, Islam and Christianity) and reading of messages of H.E. the President, Hon Prime Minister and Hon Minister of External Affairs was held in the Consulate premises on the morning of 4^th February 2013.
