The High Commission of Sri Lanka, Islamabad celebrated Sri Lanka 65^th Independent Day on 04^th February 2013 at the Chancery in Islamabad. High Commissioner, Air Chief Marshal Jayalath Weerakkody and the Staff of the High Commission organized the event with participation of Sri Lankan community. The ceremony began with hoisting of the National Flag by the High Commissioner followed by singing of the National Anthem and religious observances which included Buddhist, Hindu, Christian and Muslim.

1)In the morning of February 4^th, members of the Sri Lankan Embassy celebrated the 65^th Anniversary of Sri Lanka’s Independence. Despite the-15^oC temperature, staff braved the frigid weather conditions to celebrate the event held on the premises of the Embassy in Seoul. The hoisting of the national flag by Ambassador Tissa Wijeratne was followed by singing of the Sri Lankan National Anthem. The event also honoured Sri Lanka’s multi-religious culture by representing the four main religions of Sri Lanka: Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam and Christianity. Following, light refreshments were served.
