The Ambassador-Designate of Sri Lanka to the Lebanese Republic, Anura Withanage, assumed duties on Monday, 6 April 2026, at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Beirut.
Upon assuming duties, he addressed the Embassy staff and emphasized the importance of further strengthening bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Lebanon, while also enhancing services and support to the Sri Lankan community in Lebanon.
He expressed his sincere appreciation to the staff for their dedicated service and commitment during the recent challenging and uncertain period in Lebanon.
