
Ceylon Tea was prominently promoted at the Diplomatic Reception held at the St. Regis Beijing on 5 February 2026 marking the 78th Independence Day of Sri Lanka. The event was attended by the members of the diplomatic corps, senior Chinese government officials, and the Chinese business community, including prominent stakeholders of the tea trade.
A dedicated tea tasting session was organized for the attendees, showcasing Sri Lanka’s seven distinct agro-climatic tea-growing regions. The presentation highlighted the unique characteristics, flavor profiles, and quality variations of teas cultivated across different elevations and climatic conditions. The tasting session was conducted using Ceylon Tea branded materials, ensuring consistent national branding and reinforcing Sri Lanka’s premium positioning.
The event featured elements of Sri Lankan tradition, culture, and cuisine, creating an authentic Sri Lankan ambiance for the distinguished gathering. Ceylon Tea was prominently positioned as an iconic national brand, further enhancing its visibility and strengthening its recognition among the prestigious gathering.
