Prominent Chilean Tour Operator assures support and cooperation for speedy recovery of Sri Lanka’s tourism

Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Brazil, C.A. Chaminda I. Colonne, recently held an online meeting with General Manager Tadao Mitani of Mitani Travel Service, one of the prominent travel agents, in Chile.

Mitani Travel Service, established in Santiago, Chile, in 1991, has over 30 years of experience providing reliable leisure and business travel services across Chile and South America. The Company caters to the Chilean market´s growing demand for travel to Japan and other Asian destinations.

While providing an update on Sri Lanka’s tourism, aftermath of Cyclone Ditwah Ambassador Colonne emphasized the need of keeping tourism as one of the major sources of income for its recovery. Ambassador highlighted that situation in the country has stabilized, with all tourism-related facilities fully operational, and reaffirmed Sri Lanka’s readiness to welcome international visitors and requested the support of the Chilean travel sector in encouraging Chilean travelers to continue in considering Sri Lanka as a promising travel destination.

Both discussed and agreed to promote Sri Lanka through social media platforms, travel magazines, etc. and strengthened collaboration with Chilean tour operators. General Manager Tadao Mitani assured his fullest support and cooperation for speedy recovery of Sri Lanka’s tourism, aftermath of Cyclone Ditwah.

Honorary Consul for Sri Lanka in Chile, Juan Sebastián Vicuña Rengifo and Minister Counsellor (Commercial) of the Embassy of Sri Lanka, Chathurika Perera joined the discussion.
