
The Chairman, Muhammad Jamal Bhuta, Senior Vice-President, Vice President and executive committee members of the PCSUMEA in Wazirabad met the High Commissioner, Rear Admiral Fred Senavirathne, on 07 November 2025 at the Official Residence of the High Commissioner.
High Commissioner welcomed the Chairman and accompanied members of PCSUMEA for their visit in continuation of the High Commissioner’s visit to Wazirabad in September 2025.
During the meeting, the High Commissioner briefed them on the policies of the new Government of Sri Lanka, including the ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ initiative, poverty alleviation efforts, and digitalization. He further added that with the new government’s anti-corruption measures and economic reforms, Sri Lanka’s situation has now stabilized, and its political and economic conditions are improving.
Discussions also focused on the upcoming Sri Lanka Economic and Investment Summit 2025, organized by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka from 02 to 04 December 2025, the Prathibhabhisheka Women Entrepreneur Awards 2025 as well as Sri Lanka Expo 2026 to be held from 18 -21 June 2026 in Colombo.
Chairman Bhutta conveyed his appreciation to the High Commissioner for facilitating the meeting and assured his commitment to leading a business delegation to participate in forthcoming events in Sri Lanka, while expressing keen interest in establishing joint venture partnerships with Sri Lankan manufacturers.
Minister/Head of Chancery at the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Islamabad, A. Christy Ruban, was also present at the meeting.
