Sri Lankan athlete Lahiru Achintha has brought pride to the nation by winning the Gold Medal in the Boys' 1500m event at the 3rd Asian Youth Games, held on 23 October 2025 at the Bahrain National Stadium.
This remarkable achievement marks the first Gold Medal for Sri Lanka at the Asian Youth Games, underscoring the strength, determination, and talent of the country's young athletes competing on the Asian stage.
Adding to this success, Sri Lankan athlete Nethmi Gimhani Pulle brought further victory to the nation by winning the Bronze Medal in the Girls' 1500m event, marking another proud moment for Sri Lanka at the Youth Games.
