A trade promotion mission organized by the Sri Lanka–Indonesia Business Council of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce was undertaken in Indonesia from 14–18 October 2025. The ten-member delegation, representing the IT and energy sectors of Sri Lanka, also visited Trade Expo Indonesia on 15 October 2025.
During the visit, the Embassy successfully arranged a series of engagements for the delegation with relevant industry stakeholders and chambers of commerce. On 15 October 2025, the delegates representing the energy sector met with the senior management of the Indonesian Renewable Energy Association and discussed opportunities available in both Sri Lanka and Indonesia for potential future collaboration.
The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs organized an immersion program titled “Beyond Borders – Sri Lanka & Indonesia Startup Exchange” for the delegation, with the participation of representatives from around 10–15 Indonesian IT startups, the Head of Partnership and Investment Ecosystem of the Ministry, and other officials. The highlight of the program was a Fireside Chat featuring Head of the Sri Lankan delegation, Sampath Jayasundara and the Indonesian representative, moderated by Public Diplomacy Officer of the Embassy, Yosafath Sean Sudono.
At the meeting with the senior management of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) held on 16 October 2025, discussions focused on further strengthening Sri Lanka–Indonesia trade relations. A potential social media influencer exchange program and KADIN’s interest in exploring investment opportunities in Sri Lanka’s mining sector were also highlighted.
On 17 October 2025, a networking session involving around forty (40) Indonesian and Sri Lankan entrepreneurs from the IT, food, and energy sectors was hosted at the Embassy. The session aimed to foster direct business linkages and explore future collaboration opportunities between the two countries.
Throughout the visit, the upcoming Economic and Investment Summit 2025, hosted by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and scheduled to be held in Colombo from 2–3 December 2025, was actively promoted, with the intention of encouraging an Indonesian business delegation to participate in the event.
This was the second consecutive trade promotion mission organized by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce to Indonesia since the establishment of the Indonesia–Sri Lanka Business Council, marking another milestone in strengthening bilateral trade and investment relations between Sri Lanka and Indonesia.
