Governor of Jeddah region Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi received Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ameer Ajwad on 17 August 2025 at the Governorate in Jeddah.
While welcoming the Ambassador, the Governor of Jeddah highlighted long-standing relations between Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia and extended his support to further enhance cooperation between the two countries. In response, Ambassador Ameer Ajwad expressed his appreciation for hosting a large number of Sri Lankan expatriates in Jeddah region and emphasized further enhancing people to people relations. He also underscored the potential collaboration between the Jeddah and Colombo ports and briefed on the investment opportunities available in Sri Lanka’s special economic zone, Colombo Port City and shared information with the Governor.
Both sides agreed to explore opportunities in the areas of mutual interest to foster bilateral collaboration.
Acting Consul General of Sri Lanka in Jeddah, Mafusa Lafir accompanied the Ambassador.
