The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Jakarta, in collaboration with the SriLankan Airlines Country Office in Jakarta and Jetwing Travels (Pvt) Ltd in Sri Lanka, successfully organized a tourism promotion event at the Embassy premises on 27 August 2025.
The event aimed to raise awareness among Indonesian travelers about Sri Lanka’s tourism opportunities. A group of forty Indonesians, representing a diverse range of participants including tour operators, travel associations, media representatives, well-wishers, and enthusiasts of Sri Lankan culture and cuisine, attended the event.
The Chargé d’Affaires (a.i.) Nilanthi K. Pelawaththage extended a warm welcome to the audience. SriLankan Airlines Country Manager, Prathap Balakrishnan and Manager of Jetwing Travels (Pvt) Ltd, Sarath Bandarawattha provided detailed briefings on their respective offerings for prospective travelers, while also highlighting Sri Lanka’s vibrant tourism landscape.
The interactive Q &A session, conducted in Bahasa Indonesia, gave participants the opportunity to clarify their questions and concerns about traveling to Sri Lanka. The event concluded on a positive note, with hopes of welcoming more Indonesian visitors to Sri Lanka in the future.
Guests were treated to a delicious Sri Lankan lunch, and each participant received a token of appreciation to commemorate the occasion.
