
The Sri Lanka Embassy in France was pleased to participate in the launch of “CLE Tea Ceylon”, a premium artisanal tea brand proudly rooted in Sri Lanka, on Friday, 20 June 2025 at the picturesque Chateau Rochefort-en-Yvelines in France.
The Minister Counsellor and Head of Chancery of the Embassy, Dinesha Samarasinghe represented the Ambassador of Sri Lanka at the launch, along with Ministers Counsellor/Commercial, Gayan Rajapakse.
Guests including the Mayor of Rochefort-en-Yvelines, Sylvain Lambert were warmly welcomed with traditional Sri Lankan dance and music, creating a vibrant and culturally rich atmosphere. The reception was held at Restaurant l’Ambassade, located on the ground floor of the Chateau.
During the event, CLE Tea’s Consultant Wansa Hettiarachchi and team welcomed the guests and presented the company’s core values, their dedication to sustainability, and their strong connection with over 12,000 smallholder tea farmers in Sri Lanka. A highlight of the evening was the unveiling of their innovative new product CLE Sparkling Tea.
Attendees enjoyed a refined tea degustation, paired with authentic Sri Lankan cuisine specially prepared by two renowned Sri Lankan chefs invited for the occasion.
This vibrant event underscored CLE’s commitment to promoting trade, culture, and Diplomacy through the global heritage of Ceylon Tea.
