The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Vienna in coordination with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB), organized Sri Lanka’s participation at the 33rd Holiday World and Region World” International Tourism Exhibition 2025 which was held at the PVA EXPO in Prague, Czech Republic from 14 -16 March 2025.
The Holiday World and Region is the largest tourism exhibition hosted by the Czech Republic under the auspices of the Czech Tourism Board – Czech Tourism and the Ministry of Regional Development of the Czech Republic. The exhibition provided a platform for tourism professionals and service providers from the global tourism industry to promote tourism as well as to strengthen cooperation among tourism bodies around the world.The exhibition also showcased tourist experiences of various regions in the Czech Republic, while some travel agencies presented offers for trips around the world.
The SLTPB annually participates at the “Holiday World and Region World” with the assistance of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Vienna.
The Sri Lanka Tourism Stand was opened by the Ambassador of Sri Lanka accredited to the Czech Republic with residence in Vienna M.R.K. Lenagala, with the lightning of the traditional oil lamp. In his remarks, Ambassador Lenagala appreciated the representatives of the Sri Lankan travel and tour sectors for participation at the fair and commended their role in promoting Sri Lanka among the European travellers. He also expressed confidence that Sri Lanka’s participation at this exhibition would also contribute to Sri Lanka’s goal to achieve its target of 3 Mn. tourists this year.
Fourteen (14)) leading Sri Lankan tour operators namely, Brians Holidays Sri Lanka, Serene Vacations Lanka, Nomadic Ventures Sri Lanka, Delux Holidays (PVT) LTD, Trips4u.com Travel and Tours, Aitken Spence Travels, Real Lanka Holidays, Jetwing Travels (Pvt) Ltd, Blue Lanka Tours, Ocean Gate Travels & Tours (Pvt) Ltd, Lotus Destination Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, Dune Towers, SERENDIB TRAVEL HOLIDAYS PVT LTD and Celestia Ayurveda Resort participated at the “33rd Holiday World and Region World” with the assistance of the SLTPB.
Traditional Sri Lankan cuisines with Ceylon Tea were served to the guests by the Sri Lanka Tourism Stand. Tourism promotional videos were continuously screened at the Sri Lanka Stand throughout the event to encourage the visitors to visit Sri Lanka.
