High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to the UK, Rohitha Bogollagama visited Bedford School, a prestigious boys' boarding school in Bedford, United Kingdom on 13 November 2024.
The High Commissioner was warmly received by the School Board, including the Governor, Acting Principal, International Director, and Senior Officials from the Regional Education Authority. The visit commenced with an introductory session led by the International Director and the Principal, offering an overview of the school’s history and operations. This was followed by a guided tour to various sections of the school, led by senior prefects.
The visit culminated in a productive discussion focused on a proposed investment to establish an international school in Sri Lanka’s Port City. The initiative aims to address the educational needs of children from families residing in the Port City, as well as the local and regional population. This development is expected to attract more international professionals to Port City, marking a significant step toward the growth and future success of Port City.
The event was attended by the Lord Naseby PC, Member of the House of Lords and a former Governor of Bedford School.
Bedford School was recognized as one of the top six boys’ boarding schools globally, earning a five-star rating in Fortune’s World’s Leading Boarding Schools 2023.
