MEETING WITH GOVERNOR OF NEW SOUTH WALES HONOURABLE MARGARET BEAZLEY AO QC

On the request made by the Sri Lankan Consulate General Office in Sydney, the office of the Governor of New South Wales has invited Consul General M.H.M.N. Bandara and Consul (Commercial) M.M. Abdul Raheem to visit Governor Margaret Beazley AO QC, on 18 February 2020 at 11.00 a.m. for an official meeting.

After receiving the delegation, the Governor expressed her sincere appreciation for the courtesies and hospitality extended by the Consulate General office and the Sri Lankan community in Sydney during the celebration of 72nd Independence Day on 04 February 2020 in which the Honourable Governor was the Chief Guest.

The Consul General made a few remarks on her participation at the Independence Day and expressed gratitude on behalf of the Sri Lankan community and the Consulate General office. He also recalled the remarkable speech made by her with valuable points on Sri Lanka- Australia bilateral relations.

Consul (Commercial) Abdul Raheem briefed the availability of trade & investment opportunities in Sri Lanka and the way forward to enhance bilateral trade and economic relations between the two countries.

During the meeting the Consul General, Mr. Bandara extended an invitation to the Honourable Governor to visit Sri Lanka with a trade delegation to explore trade & investment potentials in Sri Lanka.  The Governor accepted the proposal and expressed her willingness to visit Sri Lanka with the business delegation in consultation with the relevant Ministries and Trade Institutions of the New South Wales Government.
