The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Milan, Italy celebrated Christmas in collaboration with “Milan Kithunu Sangha”, on 15th December 2018 at the premises of the Consulate General of Sri Lanka.
The “Milan Kithunu Sangha”, under the guidance of Rev. Fathers from Sri Lanka provides an immense service to the migrant Sri Lankan community in Millan in many aspects, in addition to the valuable spiritual and educational services and guidance provided to the community.
The event was attended by a cross section of the Sri Lankan expatriate community in Milan and at the beginning Rev. Father Claude Wanasinghe, Chaplain of Milan invoked blessings upon participants and Sri Lankans. The performances by Kithunu Sangha troupes, including Christmas carols, dancing and Music, added glamour and colour to the event. Gifts were distributed among children who performed and participated in the event.
The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Milan celebrates Christmas annually as a part of the process of celebration of main Sri Lankan cultural and religious events as well as a way to reach out to the Sri Lankan migrant community in Milan and in Italy.
