On an initiative and request of the Ambassador of Sri Lanka in Jordan Shanika Dissanayake, EAM Maliban Textiles Company in Ad Dulayl Industrial park, Jordan donated complete sets of winter clothing to the Sri Lankans who are in the Jordanian Rehabilitation and Correctional Centres in Juweidah, Swaqa, West and East Amman.
The Embassy appreciates the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) gesture of CEO of the EAM Maliban Textiles Factory in Jordan Salman Kareem towards this worthy humanitarian cause. The EAM Maliban Textiles Jordan is a subsidiary of the EAM Maliban Group in Sri Lanka and has been in Jordan since 2004 employing over 400 Sri Lankans.
Human Resources Manager of EAM Maliban Textiles Afraq presented the winter clothes packs to the Ambassador at the Embassy premises in Amman on 19 January. The Winter Clothing was personally handed over by the Ambassador to the Sri Lankans at the Rehabilitation and Correctional centres.
