Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Indonesia Admiral Professor Jayanath Colombage attended the Visakha Atthami Puja 2023 at Dhammacakka Jaya Temple on 17 June 2023. The event was organized by the Dayaka Sabha of Dhammacakka Jaya Temple Jakarta as a celebration on Vesak 2567 BE and an effort to strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and friendship of the Buddhist community in Jakarta.
The event was attended by large gathering including Permanent Representatives of Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, and Vietnam to ASEAN and diplomatic corps from other foreign missions in the region. The Ambassador of Sri Lanka and other Permanent Representatives to ASEAN were the chief guests of the event. The chief incumbent monk at the temple stated that the Sacred Bo-Tree at the temple has its origin to Sri Lanka. The organizers and The Buddhist Association in Indonesia appreciated the presence of the Ambassador and the staff.
