Following the closure of the Honorary Consulate of the Philippines in Colombo in September 2014, this Ministry has been receiving numerous queries from the public regarding the procedure to be followed in applying for visas to visit the Philippines.
Consequently, this Ministry has taken up this matter with the Philippine authorities, who have informed the Ministry, the guidelines to be followed by Sri Lankan nationals who wish to travel to the Philippines, as per the attached document.
The Philippine authorities have also informed that these interim measures are in place until the Honorary Consulate resumes its operations in Sri Lanka shortly.
